KeystoneMAX: Revolutionizing HBO’s Production Management
Problem / NEED
HBO was in search of a comprehensive solution to efficiently manage its internal productions.
This included the integration of a third-party Media Supply Chain Manager, SDVI’s Rally, and the
ability for vendors to upload files directly to KeystoneMax’s interface. The primary goal was to streamline HBO’s Content Acquisitions workflow, which had previously relied on manual
processes such as email communications to gather TV show and movie files.
Solution
Basis collaborated with HBO to build KeystoneMax, a powerful web application tailored to HBO’s needs to streamline and efficiently oversee TV show and movie productions.
This all-in-one solution combines a variety of features such as email/SMS notifications,
individual user permission management, file viewing and downloading, integration with Aspera for uploads, and Rally for file management and updates.
RESULTS
Since its launch in June 2022, KeystoneMAX has facilitated the delivery of numerous productions for HBO, including high-profile titles like House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, and 30 Coins..
With hundreds of users, the application has significantly expedited the production delivery process, reducing it from months of manual data entry and emails to a matter of weeks, with minimal HBO interaction required.
Technology Leveraged
The technology stack comprised React (frontend), Node.js (backend), Prisma (database), SDVI Rally (supply chain management), Aspera (file upload/downloads), and AWS for deployments/hosting.
